God has shown you what is good and what is required of you:
To act justly, and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. (Micah 6:8)
This six-week group is open to all seekers—of any tradition, color, age or ethnic background—who are exploring the connection between their prayerful relationship with God and their action in the world and who want to integrate these two aspects more fully. We will engage the question, What is mine to do?, in a praying community as we address the following themes: envisioning the kin-dom; pondering how creation
supports and nurtures us; remembering mentors on the journey; and noticing impediments to living from our soul.
Participants will be asked to take on a particular outreach to people on the edge of our society and bring the reflection on their experience to this class. Each session will include time in prayer, content to ponder, reflective practice, opportunity for sharing
and homework to assist ongoing integration.
Patience Robbins has been on the Shalem adjunct staff for 15 years, a spiritual director for 25 years and a leader of groups and retreats for over 30 years. This is one of her favorite topics and an ever-present calling for her.
