The East End Mutual Aid logo incorporates a number of elements from their self-produced posters, imagery, and calling cards. The intention was to create an identity that grew out of who they were and to resist making it too glossy and shiny.
The graphic mark echoes the themes of vegetation and growth from a variety of posters they have used while also representing people. The typography was produced with a nod to the calling cards they use for their "Helping Hands" program, which were hand produced on a letterpress and had some slight inconsistencies in the weight of the characters.
