PROJECT TYPE: Nonprofit Web Design | Drupal
The good folks at the North American Center for Marianist Studies (NACMS) contacted us to ask for advice and help as they considered redesigning their website. The site was an extensive collection of static HTML pages and they were contemplating how best to convert this into a more manageable and user-friendly form. The other consideration was that they wanted to add a new section to the site for subscription members, allowing users or groups to pay an annual fee to have access to additional resources beyond the free resources that are available.
The final site has these main features:
- Open Access resources
- Subscription resources
- A bookstore for purchase of publications
We built the site so that they can upload images directly as they create or edit page content and the site will automatically do cropping and resizing for various different views that the pages will be used in. (For example, a thumbnail in the bookstore listing but a larger image on the full page display). This helps keep image size consistent as well as reducing the amount of time it takes to manage the website.
We also helped them set up a tagging system to help users identify related content and to help with their Search Engine Optimization goals.
